This is a LP Mui ivory carving Khunpaen Gumanthong, Wat Donrai, Suphanburi province, of early 2510s.

From the above pic, Khunpaen represented by the Buddha image which is sitting over a lying Gumanthong.

The ivory Khunpaen is real handcrafted and carved each by each by carving knives without modern machine tools by a Phayuhakiri artist, Nakonsawan province. By close-up pics, you can see primitive carving traces.

The Khunpaen is great for Maha Metta, Maha Saneh, KlaewKlaad, and fortune.

LP Mui was so famous for his amulet consecrations. When he was performing consecration, all the pile of amulets in front of him were moving and shaking while some springing up. Miraculous consecration events happened many times before monks and people in consecration ceremonies.

And also many times that when he took a tray of amulets up for presenting to people, the amulets were springing up. This is due to his ultra-high incantation capability and Dhamma practice.

LP Mui learned Buddhistic incantation with the famous LP iim Wat Huakao, Suphanburi, and later with a top master of the country - LP Sook Wat Makamtao, Chainart.

LP Mui made and blessed amulets of many kinds including Takruts, rings, Phayants, Rians, ivory carving, baked clay, and holy powder.

Somdej PhraSangkharaj (Juan Utthayi / B.E.2440-2514) of Wat MakutKasattriyaram, BKK once asked LP Mui why amulets blessed by him were so efficacious.

"Since I was ordained as a Buddhist monk I have never committed any sin," replied LP Mui.

LP Mui passed away in B.E. 2517 at the age of 86. He has been highly respected by local Suphanburi people and Buddhists all over the country.

Vocabs:
Maha Metta = to be greatly loved
Maha Sanaeh = to be very attractive
KlaewKlaad = life safty, free from all harms
