VHTF LP Kant's Ivory Carving
Three-Sworled Singharaj
Wat KaoKaew, Nakonsawan
Late 2490s

This is a VHTF, very nice, and well-preserved ivory carving Singharaj of three sworls. It's carved by Phayuhakiri artisan and blessed by LP Kant, a closest disciple of LP Doem, in late 2490s.

The Singharaj was carved by hand tools. It's primitive method - no modern machine was available in the rural Phayuhakiri at that time.

This is a good example of authentic and standard Phayuhakiri ivory carving art. Carving skill is like a "signature" and tell us source of origin.

Singharaj = the lion king. It's a major symbol of power and authority in Thai culture and belief.

The ivory carving Singharaj has efficacies and properties for power, force, life protection - free from all harms.

LP Doem's Singharajs are very popular in among real guys, administrators, directors, supervisors etc, but their prices are very expensive. It's widely known for a long time that LP Kant's carving Singharajs are so efficacious as same as his teacher's (LP Doem) and can be used as substitution to LP Doem's-- but much more cheaper in price.

It's LP Doem - the former abbot of Wat Nongpho - who was the first that ordered Phayuhakiri artisans to carve Singharajs for him. He had gathered Singharajs and selected an auspicious time to make consecration.

Phayuhakiri is a District of Nakonsawan province. It's close to the southern Takli District where Wat NongPho located.

The above seen Singharaj is "Phayuhakiri Art" skill. Artisans who had carved Singharajs for LP Doem were still alive in LP Kant period and also carved them for LP Kant.

The LP Kant's early-period Singharaj art is the same as LP Doem's. The difference is just the ivory content of LP Kant's Singharajs is not as old as LP Doem's stuff.

The surface of the above Singharaj is beginning to transform itself to be candle wax alike - this is the primary stage of ivory transformation. In this case, some dealers will sell it as LP Doem's stuff to make more profit !!

LP Doem had many close disciples viz LP Kant of Wat KaoKaew, LP Chan of Wat KlongRanong, LP Noi of Wat NangPho, LP Onn of Wat Kokdua, LP Oii of Wat Nongbua, LP Sod of Wat Hangnamsakorn, LP Od of Wat Chansen, but the most senior is LP Kant.

LP Kant was born in B.E.2434 and ordained for his monkhood in B.E.2455. He was an early-period, close disciple of LP Doem, Wat NongPho. He learned VishaAkom (Buddhistic incantation) with LP Doem since his early years of his ordination.

LP Kant succeeded all incantation knowledge from LP Doem, which includes making and blessing of MeedMoh, Singharaj and many other ivory carving amulets.

LP Kant was appointed by SangKha (monk administration) to be the Abbot of Wat KaoKaew, Nakonsawan, in B.E.2461.

While LP Doem helped build and renovate many temples since 2460s, It's LP Kant who followed LP Doem to construction sites to alleviate LP Doem's burden.

LP Doem created and blessed ivory Singharaj in 2460s. After his passing in B.E.2494, LP Kant sat his place and successively created and blessing efficacious Singharajs.

A lot of early period of LP Kant ivory Singharajs created since mid 2490s (after LP Doem's passing) up to early 2500s were sold at the high price as LP DOEM'S STUFFS !

LP Kant passed away in B.E.2513 at the age of 79 after living his long-year monkhood for 58 years.

Vocabs:
VHTF = very hard to find
Singharaj = lion king
Phayuhakiri = a district of Nakonswan province
